AVENGED SEVENFOLD SET TO RETURN TO THE FAR AND MIDDLE EAST THIS SPRING

Avenged Sevenfold announced today that they will be returning to the Far and Middle East beginning April 16th in Tokyo, Japan, for a tour that will culminate in a special show in Dubai, UAE on May 4th.

“We are excited to go back to the Far and Middle East,” said Avenged Sevenfold front man M. Shadows. "We played to some of the most amazing crowds when we toured the album there, and we can't wait to bring our live show back to our friends in those regions.”

Long time friends Metallica have asked Avenged Sevenfold to perform at the first ever Orion Music + More at Bader Field in Atlantic City, NJ, on June 24th. M. Shadows had this to say: "We really hadn't planned to play the United States in 2012. But after Lars called to describe their plans for Orion and asked us to join them, we decided there's no way we would miss it." The band toured with Metallica in 2006 as part of Metallica’s “Escape From The Studio Tour” and that year M. Shadows and Metallica’s James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich were featured together on the cover of Revolver Magazine. 3 years later, Avenged Sevenfold toured with Metallica on their “World Magnetic” tour.

In July 2010, Avenged Sevenfold released their fifth studio album Nightmare, which earned the band its highest-ever debut on the Billboard album chart when it bowed at No. 1 and topped the Rock, Hard Rock, and Digital charts. It has been certified gold by the RIAA and has scanned upwards of 660,000 units. The album spawned three hit singles – the gold-certified singles “Nightmare” and “Welcome To The Family,” and “So Far Away” – each of which peaked at Number 1 on the Media Base Active Rock chart. The title track was the most-played current song at Media Base Active Rock for 2010. Avenged Sevenfold have toured incessantly on their “Buried Alive” and “Welcome to the Family” tours selling out arenas around the world. They also headlined the Uproar Tour and the first annual Carolina Rebellion Festival in 2011 where the band played to a sold-out crowd of over 30,000 fans. The band also toured Iraq with the USO and has played to nearly 1,000,000 people in the last two years. Their breakout album City of Evil and the Live In The LBC DVD have both been certified platinum and the band’s self-titled album has been certified gold.

From zero to hero "R.I.P James Owen Sullivan"

Today marks the two-year anniversary of the untimely passing of Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy “the Rev” Sullivan. To mark the occasion, all this week on RevolverMag.com we’ll be bringing you memories of the Rev from his friends in the hard rock and metal community.

Below are the thoughts of Atreyu and Hell or Highwater’s Brandon Saller.

“Jimmy was always more concerned about everyone else than he was with himself. He always wanted everyone to have a good time. He didn’t live in a world where you could be sad or bummed out. He didn’t let that part of life exist for him. He always brought out the good in everything and was always laughing and joking and fucking with you. I just feel so lucky that I got to spend time with the dude and know the dude. I think that anybody that got to is a lucky person.”

Up next, the recollections of Street Drum Corps’ Bobby Alt.

“I remember being on the Vans Warped Tour in 2003 with my band S.T.U.N., walking around in Boise, Idaho, when a little kid with an Avenged Sevenfold T-shirt pulled me over to see them play. Knowing I was a drummer, he had me watch Jimmy play. And boy could Jimmy play. “Play on Jimmy, Play on! You will be missed, my friend. He is now with Krupa, Bonham, and Moon, the drumming gods in the sky watching over us! He will be missed by many. Fans, family, and friends.”

“Not only was he a great and innovative drummer/song writer, he was a leader who truly cared about his band his fans and all his friends. I admire that about him.”

Up next, Bullet for My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck.

“Jimmy had a huge amount of love for everyone he met. When we’d go out for drinks, he would always grab you and hug you and kiss you and tell you how much he loved you. Jimmy had a huge passion for living life for however long he was going to be on this earth. It was cut dramatically short, but for the amount of time he was here, rest assured, he had a great time.”

Up next, Hellyeah and former Pantera drummer Vinnie 

“His music was very challenging and dangerous, but the Rev was always just a down-to-earth guy that was very humble, with no ego. He always treated me with the ultimate respect and I always enjoyed his presence. He was great.”

Up Next, Bleeding Through frontman Brandan Schieppati.

“[When Avenged Sevenfold formed], it was the only thing Jimmy had, so he strived to become a really good drummer. He played like his life depended on it because it truly did. Whenever he’d see people from the past, like Bleeding Through or Eighteen Visions, his face would light up and he’d make you feel like you were still an important part of his life, even though he had gone and done greater things with his career. He really had a big heart and was kind and warm to everybody.”

Avenged Sevenfold will hit the road for their “Buried Alive” tour, which launches in Ft. Meyers, FL, on November 23rd. VIP bundles will be available for all tour dates on September 20th. Hot Tours: Avenged Sevenfold, Kenny Chesney, Lil Wayne

Avenged Sevenfold claims the No. 1 spot on the Hot Tours rankings with more than $3.6 million in box office grosses reported from the Welcome to the Family Tour, which kicked off on April 22 at CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, La. Joined by opening acts Three Days Grace, Bullet For My Valentine and Sevendust on select dates, the California rock band headlined 16 shows during the tour that ran during April and May. According to tour promoter Frank Productions, the number of sold seats neared the 100,000 mark for the tour. Avenged Sevenfold was also a top draw at Carolina Rebellion in Charlotte on May 7 with 30,000 fans in attendance for the rock festival's first outing. The band was the final act on the main stage that also featured performances by Godsmack, Three Days Grace and Stone Sour, among other bands during the all-day music festival event.

Comedy entertainers Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy rank second among the week's list of top-grossing tours with ticket sales totals reported from the trio's co-headlining trek titled Them Idiots Whirled Tour. Gross totals from the five shows reported by tour promoter Outback Concerts during the past week, all staged in North American arenas, were $2.8 million with London, Ontario's John Labatt Centre producing the top ticket sales total. The May 7 performance grossed almost $700,000 (US$). Pittsburgh's CONSOL Energy Center drew the largest crowd with 11,597 in attendance on April 22. Among this week's reported concerts were two performances that featured only Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy in the headlining slot. The shows, both in Canadian arenas, were at General Motors Centre in Oshawa, Ontario on April 20 and Memorial Auditorium in Kitchener, Ontario the following evening. The promoter also reported two smaller events that were sole headlining efforts by both Engvall and Larry. Bill Engvall headlined a performance on April 19 at Thunder Bay (Ontario) Community Auditorium and Larry the Cable Guy's show was at Essar Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on the same night.

Arin IIejay Is a New (additional) Drummer Avenged Sevenfold

Arin Ilejay adalah drummer metal Amerika yang saat ini bermain untuk band metal Amerika Avenged Sevenfold untuk tur mereka 2011. Dia adalah mantan drummer metalcore Amerika "Confide". Arin Ilejay mungkin paling dikenal karena menjadi drummer di California Crhistian Metal Band "Confide". Debut panjangya dengan Confide pada album Shout The Truth (Science Records, 2008) di lakukan selama tahun 2008 di Warped Tour. Arin IIejay juga mendapat posisi Artist Relations Manager dengan TRX Cymbal pada bulan Februari 2009. Sebagai drummer Confide's di ikuti oleh Joel Piper.

Revolver Golden God Awards

Guys. There is the best news about the bands avenged sevenfold yang mempunyai drumer yang bertalenta tinggi yaitu the reverend tholomew plague or Jimmy"the rev"sullivan. Yang telah mendapatkan insani rock tahun ini dengan kategori best drummer.


Beberapa waktu lalu Revolver Magezine mengadakan pemilihan insan rock tahun ini, salah satu kategorinya adalah Best Drummer, dan yang menjadi nominasi anta lain :

Chris Adler (Lamb of God) Brann Dailor (Mastodon) Dave Grohl (Them Crooked Vultures) Gene Hoglan (Dethklok, Fear Factory) Dave Lombardo (Slayer) Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan (Avenged Sevenfold).

Akhirnya The Rev dinobatkan sebagai yang terbaik. Dia mengalahkan nominator lain dan penghargaan yang dibacakan oleh rekan dari Avenged sevenfold, M. Shadows bersama “petarung” WWE Chris Jericho dan diterima oleh Keluarga The Rev.

Mike Portnoy sebagai pengisi posisinya di Avenged sevenfold memberikan selamat dan meberikan pernyataan dalam twitternya :

“Congrats to The Rev for winning Revolver’s Golden God Award…spoke w Shadows & Jericho who were both on hand to present to Jimmy’s parents” “Chris was hosting the show and Matt attended with Jimmy’s parents to accept the award…I am very happy he won…much love & respect! : )”

Revolver Magezine juga merilis lewat twitter resminya :

JIMMY “THE REV” SULLIVAN!!!! His family accepts. “He studied Metallica then he studied Pantera. Thank you all!”

Nightmare A New Album For Avenged Sevenfold

Nightmare

Adalah album ke 5 dari group band beraliran rock-heavy metal Avenged Sevenfold. Avenged Sevenfold sengaja berhenti dari tour nya sesudah tour terahirnya di Sonisphere Inggris dan di Irlandia untuk mengerjakan album ke 5 mereka ini. Album ini rencana nya bakal dirilis oleh pihak WB ( WarnerBross Record) bulan" ini. Di dalam album ini Avenged Sevenfold mengaktivkan Genre Alternative -Soft Rock yang mirip dengan album pertama mereka pada waktu kejayaan Dear God dkk.
Di album kali ini avenged sevenfold meminta posisi drumer di ganti Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) sebagai drumer latar menggantikan posisi The Rev yang telah meninggal.

James Owen Sullivan-The Reverend Tholomew Plague

Desember Tanggal 28 Tahun 2009,

Avenged Sevenfold telah kehilangan seorang drumer handal dunia James Owen Sullivan or punya nama paggung The Reverend Tholomew Plague.Penyebab kematian Rev masih belum di lansir oleh pihak kepolisian, but di duga penyabab kematian Rev karena sebab alami.The Rev meninggal dalam penggarapan album kelima mereka.Drumer kelahiran Huntington Beach, California tersebut meninggal dalam usia cukup muda yaitu 28 tahun dan meninggal kan seorang istri bernama Leana McFadden.Sedikit menyinggung masa lalu Jimmy (panggilan akrab nya) yang kelihatan nakal banget.Terbukti Jimmy pernah mencicipi penjara selama beberapa kali.Dan kasus nya yach ituch" ajach, yaitu berantem.Waktu berusia 15 tahun Jimmy bersama temannya kepergok mencuri di toko elektronik dan lari dari kejaran polisi.Tapi yach apa daya,lari mereka kurang cepet seperti mobil polisi,he...he...he.Alhasil mereka ketangkep dech dan tanpa pikir panjang pasal pencurian bersenjata pun di jatuhkan ke mereka.

Kehidupan macam itulah yang mengisi masa remaja Jimmy. Beruntung dia diselamatkan oleh musik yang memang sudah hobinya sejak kecil. Kalau ngomongin masalah musikalitas, Jimmy termasuk musisi yang multi-instrumentalis. Meski lebih dikenal sebagai seorang penggebuk drum, dia sebenarnya menguasai banyak instrumen.

Instrumen kedua yang dia kuasai setelah drum adalah piano. Selain itu, dia juga gape buat main bas dan gitar. Dan jangan lupa, dia juga bisa bernyanyi dengan baik.

Dengan segala kelebihannya ini, nggak heran kalo para personel Avenged Sevenfold lainnya merasa sangat kehilangan dengan kepergiannya yang tiba-tiba.

Mereka kehilangan seorang personel super berbakat, yang bisa jadi, sulit untuk tergantikan di masa mendatang.
